Alberta Porter, 71

Alberta Porter, age 71, of Meridianville, Ala., formerly of Lafayette, Tenn., passed away on Friday, May 16, 2008, at her residence.

Memorial services for Alberta Porter were conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Berryhill Funeral Home Chapel with Minster Scotty Sparks officiating. Alberta Porter was a kind and devoted Christian, and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She was a member of Mastin Lake Road Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her parents: Lewis and Nell Anderson of Lafayette, Tenn., sister, Peggy Cluck of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and father-in-law, John Porter of Lafayette, Tenn.

She is survived by her husband, James M. Porter of Meridianville, Ala., sons, Michael (Carol) Porter, Taft, Tenn., and Patrick (Cindi) Porter of Huntsville, Ala., brother, Arthur (Stephanie) Anderson of Castalian Springs, Tenn., brother-in-law, Nelson Cluck of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., sisters, Nora (Gene) Harris of Lexington, Ky., Joyce (Edwin) Bohanan of Gallatin, Tenn., Virginia (Joe) Raney of Castalian Springs, Tenn., sisters-in-law, Sue Howard and Ruth Porter both of Lafayette, Tenn., mother-in-law, Fay Porter of Lafayette, Tenn., and  grandchildren, Cody, Cole, Katie, and Sarah Porter, several nieces and nephews.
