Mamie Watson Gregory, 94
Funeral services for Mamie Watson Gregory, age 94, a resident of The Palace and formerly of Lafayette, Tenn. were conducted Thursday afternoon, May 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, Tenn. with Elder Eddie Gregory officiating.
Interment followed in the Will Gregory Cemetery. Her pallbearers were Jimmy Watson, Garvice Gregory, David Watson, Charlie Rittenberry, Jeff Thomas and Mark Duke.
Mrs. Mamie passed away Tuesday morning, May 13, 2008 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.
She was born February 7, 1914 in Smith County, Tenn., the oldest daughter of the late James Frank and Rebecca Dickerson Watson. She married William Casper Gregory in December 1930. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1986. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Anna Lee Smith and three brothers, Doyal, Loman, Odell Watson and his wife, Edna. She was a former employee with the Carthage Shirt Corporation. She was saved at a young age and joined Ebenzer Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her death.
Survivors include: son, Dwight Gregory, Lafayette, Tenn., sisters-in-law, Mattie Watson, Bethpage, Tenn., Ruth Watson, Lafayette, Tenn., brother-in-law, Ray Smith, Franklin, Tenn. and a host of nieces and nephews.
