Brazil E. Rigdon, 88

Brazil E. Rigdon, formerly of Fountain Run and Scottsville, Ky. passed away at Scottsville Medical Center Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the age of 88.

Mr. Rigdon was retired from G.E. as an assembly worker. He was of the Missionary Baptist belief and went to Capitol Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of WWII and a member of the Loving Lodge #323 F&AM.

He was the son of the late Joe Ridgon and the late Pernie Wheat. He was married to Irene Burnley Rigdon.

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers Depp and Ralph Rigdon and sisters, Minnie Layne, Evelyn McIntyre and Louise Tinsley and Virginia Graves.

He is survived by son, Donald (Bonita) Rigdon of Westpoint, Ky.; daughter, Bonnie (Al) Schweder of Scottsville, Ky.; brother, Jack Rigdon of Fountain Run, Ky.; sisters, Bytha Kirby, Elmina Wheat and Polly Wyatt all of Fountain Run, Ky.; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 1 p.m. from Hughes Funeral Home with Bro. Nick Hurt officiating. Interment followed in the Fountain Run Cemetery. Donnie Ritchey, Steve Burnley, Johnny Bond, Mark Rigdon, Joe Graves and Skip Elmore served as Pallbearers.
