Corinne W. Mayo, 66
Corinne W. Mayo, 66, Tennessee Ridge, Tenn. lost her battle with breast cancer on June 24, 2008 at her home.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, William (Bill) Mayo; a son, Stephen K. Mayo and wife Pam, West Chester, Ohio; and a daughter, Melanie Mayo Miles and husband Oscar, Florence, Ala.; one brother, Thomas G. Whitley, Nashville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.
She was born May 2, 1942 in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. to Thomas Jefferson Whitley and Mildred Meador Whitley.
She was a member of North Second Street church of Christ in Clarksville. A memorial service celebrating her life is scheduled on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the North Second church of Christ building, 782 North Second Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
She was active in helping others all her life. After locating to Houston County in 1993, she was active in FCE Councils, charity work and delivered “Meals on Wheels” for several years.
She donated her body to the University of Tennessee Medical Research Department, Memphis, Tenn. The family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers, please.
