Melinda Sue Knight, 45

Melinda Sue Knight passed away on Friday morning, June 27, 2008 at Macon County General Hospital. Funeral services for Melinda Sue Knight were conducted on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Elder Jackie Stagner officiating.

Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery. Noah Pharris, Larry Knight, Raymond Jones, Donald Ray Smith, Rickey Hauskins, David Knight, and Joe Ferguson served as honorary Pallbearers. Gary Flippin, Steven Smalling, Timmy Morgan, Tony Morgan, Kenneth Hollis, and Bennie Swindell served as active Pallbearers.

Melinda was born on April 14, 1963 in Macon County, Tenn., one of eight siblings of Wanda S. Rush Ray, who survives and resides in Lafayette and the late Jimmy Ray. She was married to Bobby S. Knight on March 9, 1985, who survives.  In addition to her father, a step-son Christopher Shane Knight, sister, Rhonda Ray, her paternal grandparents, Bud and Nettie Ray and maternal grandparents, Clarence and Dona Rush, preceded her in death.

She was a Homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband of 23 year and her mother, she is survived by, son, Bobby Knight, II, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., biological son, Patrick Ray, Lafayette, Tenn., step-daughters, Marilyn Knight, Lafayette, Tenn., Sonya Knight, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., sisters, Dianna Morgan, Tammy Stacey, Sha Ray Kinsey, all of Lafayette, Tenn., Kristy Stacey, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., brothers, Jimmy Ray, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., Ronald Ray, Lafayette, Tenn., Chris Ray, Hartsville, Tenn., 3 grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren.
