Velma Wilder Painter, 88

Funeral services for Velma Wilder Painter, age 88, of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. were conducted Saturday morning, July 5, 2008, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bill Clark, Lee Anderson, Preacher Anderson, Kevin Wilder, Charles Tallent and Bill Painter.

Mrs. Painter passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 2, 2008 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tenn.

Velma was born May 31, 1920 in Macon County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Joe C. and Gertrude Carter Wilder. She married James Barton Painter, who preceded her in death on June 18, 1984. In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Sally Tallent and Louise Wood, and brothers, Delbert, Buck, J.B. and Tony Wilder. She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Boiling Springs Church of Christ.

Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law; David & Barbara Painter, granddaughters; Rachel, Meredith and Mackenzie Painter all of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.
