Charlie Elmer Richardson, 90

Mr. Charlie Elmer Richardson, 90, of Readyville died July 13, 2008. He was born June 1, 1918 in Rutherford County, Tenn. He was a lifelong resident of Readyville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie & Ethel Mai (Paschal) Richardson.

He is survived by immediate family members, Mable Helton of Readyville; Jennifer Hix of Lafayette, Tenn. and Tonya & Chris Fryman of Lafayette, Tenn., as well as several cousins.

Mr. Richardson was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII in the Medical Corp. He was assigned to duty in the South Pacific/Phillippines. He was a retired employee of Cummings Sign Company with nearly 30 years service. He also worked in a sawmill/lumber yard during younger years. He was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ.

Visitation was be held Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Thyatira Cemetery. The Military Funeral Honor Detail will be in attendance to fold and present the flag.
