Joe Bartley, 70

Funeral services for Joe Bartley, age 70 of the Oak Grove Road, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. were conducted Wednesday afternoon, July 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with Brother Oran Collins and Brother Neel Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. His pallbearers were Mark Bartley, Bruce Bartley, Roger West, Darrel West, George Trent and Charlie Bartley.

Joe passed away Monday morning, July 7, 2008 at the Hendersonville Hospital in Hendersonville, Tenn.

He was born November 19, 1937 in Macon County, Tenn., the son of the late Charlie Benton and Lucy Irene (Vinson) Bartley.

On September 21, 1963, he married Mary Altavene Franklin who preceded him in death on March 13, 2008. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, John and Hugh Bartley. He was a machine operator for 33 1/2 years at Lafayette Manufacturing and a member of the Red Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

His survivors include: daughters, Frances Newberry of Red Boiling Springs, Marsha Johnson of Lafayette, step-daughter, Barbara (Ronnie) Steen, step-sons, Ray D. (Linda) Bandy and Tony Bandy all of Lafayette, granddaughter, Deanna Johnson of Red Boiling Springs, sisters, Mary Lee and Naomi West of Red Boiling Springs and Ruth Marion of Indianapolis, Ind., brothers, Junior Bartley, Roy (Patricia) Bartley of Lafayette, Doyle (Janet) Bartley of Red Boiling Springs, 10 step-grandchildren.
