Allen Chris Latham, 52

Allen Chris Latham, age 52 of Lafayette, Tenn. passed away suddenly July 15, 2008 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tenn.  Funeral services for Allen Chris Latham were conducted Friday morning, July 18, 2008 from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Brother John Gregory officiating.

Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Garens with full military honors.  Honorary pallbearers were Terry Woodard, Will McCathran and Junior Fields. Active pallbearers were Adam Nash, Adam Taylor, Gerald Arter, James Latham, Mark Hammond and Timothy Latham.

Allen was born September 19, 1955 in Boone County, Ind., the son of the late Leonard Henry and Rebecca Anderson Latham. On February 7, 1981, he married the former Eva Johnson, who survives. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Tommy Latham. Chris served in the Navy retiring with 20 years of service. While he served his country, he received the Joint Meritous Unit Award, Navy Unit Commendation, Battle Efficiency Awards, Good Conduct Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medals, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals and the Southwest Asia Service Medal.  He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and VFW.

 Survivors besides his wife, Eva of 27 years include: wife, Eva Johnson Latham, Lafayette, Tenn., sons & daughters-in-law, James Nathan & Serenity Latham, Lafayette, Tenn., Mark & Andrea Hammond, Chesapeak, Va., Timothy Latham, Virginia Beach, Va., Leonard “Fish” Latham, Lafayette, Tenn., daughter, Deborah Latham, Lafayette, Tenn., brothers, Robert Latham, Crawfordsville, Ind., James Latham, sisters, Diane Reagan and Amanda Latham both of Lebanon, Ind., Chris Roy, Indianapolis, Ind. and 7 grandchildren.
