Flora McCormick, 70

Funeral services for Flora McCormick Swoner, age 70 of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. were conducted Tuesday July 22, 2008, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with Jimmy Cook officiating.

Interment followed in the Jenkins Cemetery. Her pallbearers were Kevin Williams, Anthony Williams, Ben Long, Terry Meadors, Joshua Ray, and Matthew Swoner.

Flora passed away Sunday morning, July 20, 2008 at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

She was born August 7, 1937 in Smith County, Tenn., the daughter of Gladys McCormick. On February 26, 1956, she married Byrd Edward Swoner, who preceded her in death on March 13, 1984.  In addition to her husband and mother, she was also preceded in death by her son, Douglas Wayne Swoner, step-father, Carlie Austin and sister, Lucille Biles.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include: daughters, Virginia Bissinger, Nashville, Tenn., Peggy Williams, Lafayette, Tenn., son, Bobby Swoner, Nashville, Tenn., son & daughter-in-law, David & Sherry Swoner, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., sister & brother-in-law, Cathy & Gene Williams, Lafayette, Tenn., brothers & sister-in-law, Douglas “Shotgun” Austin,  Doyle & Shirley Austin all of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
