Kenneth “Ken” Leon Brooks, 63

Kenneth “Ken” Leon Brooks, age 63, of Lafayette, Tenn., passed away on Monday, July 17, 2008.  Funeral services for Kenneth Leon Brooks were conducted Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 1 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder J. E. Shoulders and Brother Ken Roark officiating.

Rusaw Carter and Buddy Whittaker served as honorary pallbearers. Darren Walrond, Chad Meador, David Dyer, David Roysden, T.J. Roark, and Sam Kendall served as active pallbearers.  Burial followed in the Galen Cemetery.

Ken Brooks was born on Monday, September 4, 1944, in Rhea County, Tenn., born one of five siblings to the late L. W. and Lillie Jane Brooks.  He married the former Barbara Roark Perry on December 30, 1985, who survives. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: brothers, Bobby Brooks, Bo Brooks, sisters, Tootsie Lawrence, and Billie Brooks.  Kenneth was a merchandise salesman, he was the former owner of T. J.’s Wholesale and K & B Wholesale here in Macon County, loved to work the flea markets, watch wrestling in his spare time and was of the Baptist belief.

Besides his wife of twenty-two years, he is survived by:  son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth (Darla) Brooks, Jr., daughter and son-in-law, Sherry (Charlie) Qualls all of Chattanooga, Tenn., sister-in-law, Irene Roark of Lafayette, Tenn., nephews and nieces, Tommy (Susie) Roark of Lafayette, Tenn., Ricky (Penny) Roark of Gallatin, Tenn., Roger Roark of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., T.J. (Buffy) Roark, Kristin (Darren) Walrond, Ken (Casey) Roark all of Lafayette, Tenn., Jenna (Chad) Meador of Murfreesboro, Tenn., six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
