Arcie Wilson Pharris, 93
Arcie Wilson Pharris, age 93, of Mooresville, Ind. formally of Lafayette, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.
Funeral services for Arcie Wilson Pharris were conducted Friday, July 25, 2008 at 10 a.m. from the Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Bobby Hale officiating. Burial followed in the Rocky Mound Cemetery. Arcie Wilson Pharris was born on Friday, February 12, 1915, in Macon County, Tenn., born one of five siblings to the late Wesley Harvey and Susan Alice (Snow) Pharis. He married the former Pearly Estes Purdue and later married Mildred Lois Jent Wyatt, they both preceded him in death. Besides his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by: son, Earl D, Pharris, brothers, Ernest Pharris, Cardell Pharris, Allan Brown Pharris, and sister, Gracie Pharris. Arcie was a self-employed farmer for years and also had worked for American Greetings Card Factory for twelve years, until 1990. He was a member of Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by: son and daughter-in-law, Harold (Pam) Pharis of Mooresville, Ind., daughters, Faye Pharis of England and Joyce Forsyth of Lewisburg, Ky., step son, Loren Wyatt of Pleasantville, Tenn., step daughter, Cathy Cates of Lafayette, Tenn,, fourteen grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.
