Magie Olene (Nichols) McDuffee Hudson, 96

Magie Olene (Nichols) McDuffee Hudson, age 96 of the Haysville Community passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tenn.

Funeral Services for Ms. Olene were conducted Thursday afternoon, July 24, 2008 from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder Doug Curtis and Elder Frank Carr officiating. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery. Justin Gregory, Nathan Gregory, Eric Travis, Eli McDuffee, Cole McDuffee, Frankie Dipasquale, and Patrick Dipasquale served as pallbearers.

Ms. Olene was born August 19, 1911 in Macon County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Robert Graves and Ella (Hooper) Nichols. On February 22, 1929, she married Brady Cordell Nichols who preceded her in death June 24, 1985. On May 2, 1986, she married Oakley William Hudson who also preceded her in death April 20, 2007.  In addition to her parents, and husbands she was preceded in death by two infant sons, half-brother, Graves Nichols, step-mother, Annice Gammons Nichols, and step-daughter, Hilda Calvert. She was a loving mother, homemaker, and the oldest member of the Old Beech Bottom Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Jackie (Mary Ann) McDuffee of the Haysville Community, daughter, Betty Huntsman of Gallatin, half-sister, Bobbie Ann (Elton) Brawner of Lafayette, step-son, Harold Dean Hudson, step-daughter, Helen Johnson both of Franklin, Ky., 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
