Betty Jean Jones Minchey, 78

Betty Jean Jones Minchey, age 78 of Greenville, Texas, and formerly of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 12, 2008 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Greenville, Texas. 

Funeral services for Betty Jean Jones Minchey were conducted Friday August 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with Mark West officiating. Interment followed in the Jenkins Cemetery. Her family and friends served as pallbearers.

She was born July 29, 1930 in Macon County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Genie and Alma Hill Jones. On June 15, 1957, she was married to Durell Minchey, who survives. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Joan Cassetty. She was a teacher, homemaker and a very loving wife and mother. She was also a member of the Johnson Street Church of Christ.

Survivors besides her husband, Durell of 51 years include: son, Dr. David Minchey, Greenville, Texas, brothers, William "Bill" (Phyllis) Jones, Old Hickory, Tenn., Bobby & Carolyn Jones, Kenneth Jones, Paul (Josephine) Jones all of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., sisters, Madeline (Hugh D.) Clark, Willette Community, Louise Huffines, Nashville, Tenn., Ellen (Jack) Gulley, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.
