Gracie Idell Perdue Wooten, 94

Gracie Idell Perdue Wooten, age 94, of Bainbridge, Ind., and formerly of Lafayette, Tenn. passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2008 in Ind.

 Funeral services for Gracie Idell Perdue Wooten were conducted Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at 2 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Greg Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the Underwood Cemetery.                     

Gracie Wooten was born on August 28, 1913, in Macon County, one of seventeen siblings, to the late Ezra and Gertha Cliborne Perdue. She was married on August 9, 1930 to Coy Wooten, who preceded her in death. Besides her husband and parents, daughters, Mary Lou Whitson and Sarah Key, step-daughter, Berdene Perdue, step-son, Hollis Wooten, brothers, Tilmon, James, Kenny, Willard, Charles, Billy, and Randall Perdue, sister, Jewell Perdue, and step-grandson, Edward Perdue, also preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker; a fine seamstress, making clothes and devoting her life to her family, she enjoyed studying her family history, keeping her grandchildren, and going to yard sales. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by; brothers, Hildreth Perdue of Lebanon, Tenn., Jesse Perdue of Green Castle, Ind., Roger Dale Perdue of Hermitage Springs, Tenn., Steve Perdue of Adolphus, Ky., sisters, Marie Hagenschneider of West Chester, Ohio, Mildred Cook, Virginia Francis Knight, and Jo Ann Davis all of Lafayette, Tenn., 3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren , 34 step-great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 66 step-great-great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-great-great-grandchildren.
