Mildred “Midge” Louise Swindle Lucas, 79

Mildred “Midge” Louise Swindle Lucas of Lafayette, Tenn. passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Portland Hospital at the age of 79.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 22 at 11 a.m. from Haysville Missionary Baptist Church with Mark Shelton officiating. Singers were Connie Goodman and Tammie Nichols. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery. Daniel Swindle, Troy and Derrick Dickens, Paul Wood, Jr., and Joseph East (nephews) served as Pallbearers.

Mildred was a Christian and a retired Nurses’ Aide.

Mildred was born February 3, 1929 in Allen Co., Ky. to the late Benton Bill Swindle and the late Lela Moore Swindle.

Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Lois Keen Swindle; brothers Billy and Jimmy Swindle and sister, Judy Faye Adams.

She is survived by sons, Craig (Suzanne) Shelton of Summerfield, Fla., Mark (Barbara) Shelton of Gatesville, Texas; brothers, Charles (Dorothy) Swindle, Rex (Meleah) Swindle both of Lafayette; sisters, Caroly (Arlin) West of Hermitage Springs, Linda (James) Hughes of Fountain Run, Ky., Brenda (Stanley) Miller, June (Louie) Wood both of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., Tresa (Ronnie) Dickens, Betty (Wayne) Nash and Myra (Jeff) Johnson all of Lafayette, Tenn., 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
