William Taylor Chamberlain, 88

William Taylor Chamberlain, age 88, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the Macon County General Hospital.

Funeral Services for William Taylor Chamberlain were conducted on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Dr. Richard Patton and Jerry Mercer officiating.

Ryan Chamberlain, Kirk Chamberlain, Keith Cothron, Kenny Cothron, Ryan Cothron, and Randall West served as Pallbearers.

Interment followed in the Hillsdale Cemetery. William Taylor Chamberlain was born on Saturday, October 11, 1919 in Macon County, Tenn., one of three siblings born to the late Eugene Chamberlain and Mary Jane Burrow, who preceded him in death. He was married to the former Margaret Jenkins on October 9, 1938, who preceded him in death February 29, 1996. He married Mavis (Wade) Faciane February 25, 2000 who survives. Besides his parents and wife, his infant sister, Sarah Jean Chamberlain preceded him in death. He was a very well educated man for his time, earning his BS degree from Memphis State and his Masters from UT Knoxville. He taught Vocational Agriculture at Montgomery Central High School from 1948 to 1954 and was the Executive Director of the Montgomery County ASCS office for 25 years. He was a very active member of the Rotary Club and the Macon County Historical Society. He attended the Lafayette Church of Christ for the past few years and was a member of the Hillsdale Baptist Church. Other than his wife Mavis, his survivors include, son Phillip (Debra) Chamberlain of Rocky Mount, N.C., daughter, Janice (Hollis) Davis of Lafayette, sister, Edna Cothron of the Hillsdale Community, grandchildren, Eric (Susan) Chamberlain, Kirk (Lourdes) Chamberlain, Leah (Mike) Gardner, Stacey (Frank) Barbee, Tracie (Ricky) Hubbard, 9 great grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and friends.
