Chester Lee Dyer, 86

Chester Lee Dyer, age 86, of the Cedar Bluff Community in Macon County, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Trousdale Medical Center.

Funeral services for Chester Lee Dyer were conducted Thursday, September 11, 2008, at 1 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Barry Brawner officiating. Interment followed in the Eulia Cemetery. Chester Lee Dyer was born on Friday, September 8, 1922, in Macon County, one of eleven siblings, to the late Sidney Mitchell and Emily Jane (Parker) Dyer. On December 25, 1953, he married the former Bessie Angline Ladd, sharing forty-two years together; she preceded him in death on December 6, 1996.  Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Terry Lee Dyer and Charlie Wayne Dyer, brothers, Jessie, Granvel, S. M., Randall, and Arnett Dyer and a sister, Myrtle Etter Dyer.

Chester worked for the FeldKircher Wire Company in Hartsville, Tenn. for thirty-three years; he enjoyed his big two-acre gardens and going to the Farmers Market in Lafayette to sell his vegetables, he was a big fan of Wrestling. Chester was a gentle, caring, and devoted father and grandfather and a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by; sons, Jimmy Lee (Sherrie) Dyer of Lafayette, Tenn., David Ladd (Cheryl) Dyer of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., daughter, Dorothy Mai (Robert) Coker of Lafayette, Tenn., brothers, Lawrence Dyer, Carl Dyer both of Lafayette, Tenn., Brandle Dyer of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., Charlie Dyer of Hendersonville, Tenn., twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
