Genoa May York, 74

Genoa May York, age 74 a resident of the Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. and formerly of Gamaliel, Ky. passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 16, 2008 at the Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.

Funeral service for Genoa May York were conducted Friday morning, September 19, 2008 at 11a.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Patrick Cherry, Doug Cherry, Brian Cherry, Larry West, Dennis West and Robert Strong.

She was born May 10, 1934 in Clay County, Tenn., the daughter of the late William Jasper and Ella Pearl Bean Cherry. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Junior Cherry and sister-in-law, Estelene Cherry. She was the owner & operator of the former Gamaliel Dry Goods for many years.  

Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Gary & Deanna York, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., son, Mark York, Nashville, Tenn., brothers & sister-in-law, Elvin Cherry, Union Hill Community, Russell & Joan Cherry, Hermitage Springs Community, granddaughters, Whitley York, Tompkinsville, Ky., Addison York, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.
