James Barney Taylor, 75
Funeral services for Mr. James Barney Taylor, age 75 of the Rocky Mound Community of Macon County, Tenn. were conducted on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Brother Harold Anderson officiating.
His great grandson, Corey James Randall served as Honorary Pallbearer. Glen Williams, Ricky Lawing, Eric Gentry, Bill Taylor, Jeff Campbell, Ronnie Taylor, and Billy Taylor served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park with military honors.
Barney Taylor passed away suddenly Monday evening at Macon County General Hospital.
A native of Hilham in Overton County, Tenn., he was born on January 14, 1933, one of nine children born to the late Willie Wenton “Bill” Taylor and Virgie Alba Masters Taylor. He was married on February 4, 1951 to the former Dolores Elaine Richardson, who preceded him in death on December 28, 2004 after 53 years of marriage. Besides his wife and parents, a brother, Bob Taylor and a sister, Nancy Brawner, preceded him in death. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict with the rank of Sergeant. He was a self-employed Electronic Technician and attended the New Community Fellowship Church of God in Adolphus, Ky. He enjoyed farming.
He is survived by a son, James Taylor, Chandler, Ariz., daughter, Carol Taylor, Westmoreland, Tenn., brothers, Billy Joe Taylor, Clarksville, Tenn., Gordon Taylor, Gallatin, Tenn., Ray Taylor, Westmoreland, Tenn., sisters, Betty Campbell, and Ruth Jinright, both of Lafayette, Tenn., Wanda Miller, Portland, Tenn., granddaughter, Amanda Lee Davis, great grandchildren, Corey James Randall, and Kaley Elaine Davis, all of Westmoreland, Tenn.
