Marie Bean Davis, 96

Marie Bean Davis, age 96 of the Leonard Community in Clay County, Tenn., passed away Wednesday morning, October 15, 2008 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.

Funeral services for Marie Bean Davis were conducted Saturday morning, October 18, 2008 at 10 a.m. from the chapel of the Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with Jimmy Cook and E. C. Meadows officiating. Interment followed in the Leonard Cemetery. Her family and friends served as pallbearers.
She was born December 11, 1911 in Clay County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Bill and Mildred Pedigo Bean. On May 27, 1941, she married Samuel Ezell Davis, who preceded her in death on July 25, 1986. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Cleaborn, Will, Olin, Morris, Max, Harold and Horace Bean. She received her BA Degree from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tenn. She was a retired Clay County School Teacher with 30 years of service, a member of the Bakerton Church of Christ and the Clay County Retired Teachers Association.  
Survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Sandra & Dennis Reed Hix, granddaughter & husband, Denise & Michael Hix, grandson & wife, Reggie & Linda Hix all of the Leonard Community, sister, Iris Hudson, Red Boiling Springs, great-grandchildren, Kayla & Kyle Ray, Mason & Rhiannon Hix all of the Leonard Community.
