Jack William Brockett, 75

Mr. Jack William Brockett, age 75, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 1, 2008, at the Macon County General Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Jack William Brockett were conducted Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder Kenneth Massey officiating. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park.  Joe Hudson, Jimmy Thomas, Jeffery Hudson, C G Caruthers, Wayne Green, Ronnie Cassetty, Mike Craig, and Bobby Abel served as pallbearers.
He was born on Tuesday, August 15, 1933 in Macon County, Tenn., the only son of seven siblings born to the late Hubert Cornwell and Ethel (Jones) Brockett. In addition to his parents, sisters, Eunice Hutchinson, Helen Patterson and Shirley Eisele preceded him in death. He was an employee of Flex Technology in Lafayette, loved farming, and served as County Commissioner of the 7th district for 12 years. He was of the Missionary Baptist Faith and was saved several years ago while in his bed at home. He married Ruth Caruthers December 23, 1962, who survives. Other than his wife of 45 years his survivors include, daughter, Penny Renee Brockett of Nashville, sisters, Audrie Green of Madison, Syble (Raymond) Smith and Barbara (Huey) Smith all of the Russell Hill Community.
