Martha Jean Martin, 80

Martha Jean Martin, age 80, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008, at her residence. The funeral service for Martha Jean Martin was conducted Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jason Wheeley officiating. Gary Keene, Randy Keene, Ricky Keene, Danny Langford, Robert Langford, and Ronnie Langford served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.

Martha Jean Martin was born on February 13, 1928 in Macon County, Tenn. She was the daughter of Vernon Zolley better known as V.Z. Keene and Melissa Cleora Brawner Keene. Martha was married to George Herman Cline, Jr., who preceded her in death. Together they had one son, Vin. She was later married to Fred J. Martin, who also preceded her in death.  Besides her husbands and parents, Martha was also preceded in death by her brothers, Douglas Keene and Paul Keene, and a sister, Ruth Langford.
Martha was a homemaker and a member of Meadorville Missionary Baptist Church. She was a kind and loving person who will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.
She is survived by; son, Vin (Diane) Cline of Lafayette, step- son; Fred Jr. (Sharon) Martin of Portland Oregon, grandsons; Greg (April) Cline of Lafayette, Chad (Valerie) Cline of Maryville, Tenn., step grandchildren; Liezel Martin of Portland Ore., Heidi Martin of Nashville, Tenn., sister-in-laws, Maggie Keene, Dean Walrond and four great-grandchildren.
