Betty Jo Guinn, 74

 Betty Jo Guinn, age 74, passed away Friday, November 7, 2008, at Saint Thomas Hospital. The funeral service for Betty Jo Guinn was conducted Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 12 noon from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ricky Scott officiating. Ricky Guinn Jr., Vernon Wilkerson, Mickey Guinn, Junior Garvin, John Driver, and Daniel Bauterbaugh served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Maple Grove Cemetery.


Betty Jo Guinn was born on February 11th, 1934 in Macon County, Tenn.  She was one of eight siblings born to Alma B. (Smith) Brawner and the late James Earl Brawner. On December 24, 1949, she was married to J. R. Guinn, sharing two children and forty-six years together, James preceded her in death on October 19, 1996.   Ms. Betty was a homemaker, who was a very devoted and loving mother to her children and enjoyed having fun with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Maple Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves behind to mourn her passing; mother, Alma B. Brawner of Lafayette, Tenn., son, Ricky (Melody) Guinn of  Smithville, Tenn., daughter, Margaret (Bill) Patterson of Lafayette, Tenn., brother, Mack (Dena) Brawner of Plainfield, Ind., sisters, Becky (Mike) Johnson, Billie (Hollis) Bradley, Ruby (Carlos) Harris all of Lafayette, Tenn., Joy (Doak) Hooberry of Brunswick, Ga., Audrey (Ralph) Dawes of Smithville, Tenn., eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
