H. C. Copess, age 67

  H. C. Copess, age 67 of Celina, Tenn., passed away Sat., Dec. 13, 2008 at the Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, Tenn. Graveside services for H. C. Copess were conducted Sun., Dec. 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Union Hill Cemetery with Glen Crowe officiating.

His family and friends served as pallbearers. H.C. was born April 19, 1941 in Clay County, Tenn., the son of the late Clura H. and Iva Mae Price Copas. On Oct. 31, 1959, he married the former Peggy Johnson, who survives. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, James and Lanny Copas, and sisters, Judy Burton and Jennetta Copas. He was an Auto Body Technician and a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ. Survivors besides his wife Peggy of 49 years include his daughter & son-in-law, Vicki & Arno Hatcher, Union Hill Community; Traci Copas and Dawn Polk both of Scottsville, Ky.; son & daughter-in-law, Ricky & Sandra Copess, Mt. Vernon Community; sister, Joan Frazier, Celina, Tenn.; brother, David Copas, Union Hill Community, 7 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren.
