Novice Carol York, age 80

  Novice Carol York, age 80, passed away Sun., Dec. 7, 2008, at her residence. Funeral service for Novice Carol York were conducted Wed., Dec.10, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Terry Austin and Elder J. E. Shoulders officiating.

Thomas King, James Lee Holland, Johnny Sircy, W. L. King, and Steve Hester served as pallbearers. Novice Carol York was born on, May 15, 1928, in Macon County, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Fleetie May Shaw Curtis. She was married to J. C. York on Sept. 2, 1944, sharing fifty-eight years together, raising two sons and a daughter, J. C. preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2002. Besides her husband and parents; one granddaughter, Jana Loraine York, also preceded her in death. Novice worked for American Greeting Company ten years before retiring; Novice and her husband owned and operated J’s Grill and J’s Used Furniture, for many years. She was a very dedicated mother, and grandmother. She leaves to mourn her passing, sons, Clifton (Janice) Sircy and Jimmy (Candy) York; daughter, Lisa (Johnny) Sircy all of Lafayette, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jamie York, Jennifer York, Jay Cee York, Terry York, Michael York, and Jarett Sircy, great-grandchildren, Damian, Phenix, and Hagan, also survive.
