Truman Kenneth Holland, age 73

  Truman Kenneth Holland, age 73, passed away Mon., Dec. 1, 2008, at the Macon County General Hospital. The Funeral service for Truman Kenneth Holland was conducted Thurs., Dec. 4, 2008 at 1 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jeff Blackwell and Elder Jeremy Yokley officiating.

Donald Mungle, Juan Flores, Arthur Patterson, Angie Wright, Florencio Rosas, Charlotte Day, Jose Negrete, Danny Arnold, Rogelio Hernandez, Mike Compton, Dee Brooks, and Isaac Chambers served as honorary pallbearers. Jarvis Hagan, George Trent, Jackie Yokley, Glen Coley, Oval Lee Harp, Darrell “Doc” West, and Rodney Bullard served as active pallbearers. Interment followed in the Galen Cemetery. Truman Kenneth Holland was born on, Nov. 7, 1935, in Macon County, Tenn. He was the son of the late Elmer Ray and Hassie Carter Holland. On Oct. 29, 1960, he married the former Geneva Nell, better known as “Nip” Yokley, raising a daughter and sharing forty-two years together, “Nip” preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 2003.  Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by; brothers, Jack Holland, Smith Holland, infant brothers, Johnny Holland, Jerry B. Holland, and infant sister, Geraldean Holland. Truman worked as a Lumber inspector for Lafayette Manufacturing, Inc. for twenty-seven years, before retiring. Truman later opened his own, Holland Lumber Company, operating it for the last twelve years. Truman was a hard working man who loved his family and life; fishing, dancing, and traveling was just a few things he enjoyed. He leaves to mourn his passing; daughter, Connie (Phillip) Turner of the Galen Community in Macon County, brother, J. W. (June) Holland of Lafayette, sisters, Irene Seals, Aulene Bakken both of Gallatin, Tenn., Mary Andrews of Lafayette, Debbie Holland of Brownsville, Ky., special friend, Janice Ramsey of Lebanon, Tenn., special great nieces, Elizabeth Yokley Dodson, Cristina Yokley both of Lafayette, several nieces and nephews.
