Billy McCoy, 71

Billy McCoy, 71, passed away Wed., Dec. 17, 2008, at his residence. Graveside services for Billy McCoy were conducted Thurs., Dec. 18, 2008 at 1 p.m. from the Green Grove Cemetery with Elder Richard Moreland officiating, interment followed.

Johnny White, Terry Kennedy, Billy McCoy, Byrl McCoy, Travis McCoy, Harvey Jaynes, and Tommy Burns served as pallbearers. Billy McCoy was born on, Nov. 3, 1937, in Anderson County, Tenn. He was the son of the late Voltaire Timothy and Nettie Dorothy Butcher McCoy. He married the former Carol Jean Atwood on May 24, 1988, sharing twenty years together, she survives. Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by; brothers and sisters, Stanley McCoy, Johnny McCoy, Sonny McCoy, Glenn McCoy, Don McCoy, Delta McCoy, and Dorothy Golden. Billy was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He retired from the Local Union 572 in Nashville working as a pipe fitter for thirty years. He was of the Baptist belief. Besides his wife, He leaves to mourn his passing; sons, Billy (Sharon) McCoy of Kingston, Tenn., Terry (Heather) Kennedy, and Byrl (Sarah) McCoy all of Louisville, KY, Michael Kennedy of Memphis, Tenn., Travis McCoy of Clarksville, IN, Harvey Jaynes of Old Hickory, Tenn., daughter, Kimberly (John) White of Lafayette, Tenn., Brother, Byrl McCoy of Illinois, sisters, Mildred McCoy of McMinville, Tenn., Arlene McCoy of Crossville, Tenn., and eleven grandchildren.
