Mary Dee Shephard, 96

  Mary Dee Shephard, age 96, of Gallatin, Tenn. and a native of Macon County, passed away Sun., Dec. 28, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services for Mary Dee Shephard were conducted Wed., Dec. 31, 2008 from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jerry Tuttle officiating.

James Shephard, Jimmy Shephard, Tony Claridy, John Menz, and Bill Pipkin served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Mary Dee Shephard was born on, Dec. 28, 1912, in Macon County, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late William Ander and Mazie Dee Woodard Uhles. She was married to Edgar Clid Shephard on January 3, 1934, who preceded her in death. Besides her husband and parents; she was preceded in death by; one son, Billy D. Shephard, brothers, Horace, Carl, Claude, and Ray Uhles, sister Elizabeth Burton, one grandchild, and two great-grandchildren. Mary was a housewife and mother of two sons and five daughters. She enjoyed spending time with her children and family. She attended the Siloam Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves to mourn her passing; son, James Monroe Shephard of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters, Clidine Fishburn and Mazie Henkel both Gallatin,Tenn.; Elizabeth Patterson, and Nancy Menz both of Denver, CO.; and Maggie Pipkin of Fort Walton, FL.; eleven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
