Paul Richard Pitcock, 88

  Paul Richard Pitcock, age 88, passed away Tues., Jan. 13, 2009, at The Medical Center at Scottsville. Funeral services for Paul Richard Pitcock were conducted Thurs., Jan. 15, 2009 from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Wheeler officiating.

Larry Pitcock, Darrell Pitcock, Jason Morgan, Dale Savage, Kevin Morgan, and Bobby Key served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Neal Cemetery in Flippin, KY. Paul Richard Pitcock was born on, Sept. 12, 1920, in Macon County, Tenn. He was the son of the late Mordicai Hance and Nannie Viola Richardson Pitcock. He married the former Gertie Clemons Poland, raising two daughters together. She preceded him in death on September 26, 1992. Besides his first wife and parents; brothers, Sam Pitcock, Cordell Pitcock, and sister, Doris Savage, also preceded him in death. He later married the former Charlotte Wix Key, on June 10, 1994, Ms. Charlotte survives. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He retired from the Stockleys Canning Company in Tipton, Indiana. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Paul was a member of the Enon Missionary Baptist Church where he had been a member for many years, and had remained until his death. His daughter had asked him where he had gotten saved, and his reply was at home, this was in a conversation they were having only about a day before his death. He was a loving husband and father; he will be missed by many people. Besides his wife, he is survived by; daughters, Betty Sue (Tommy) Morgan of Scottsville, KY, Cathy (Jody) Taylor of Lafayette, Tenn., step-daughter, Shawntay (David) Wilson of Scottsville, KY, step-son, Bobby (Shirley) Key of Bowling Green, KY, grandchildren, Jason Morgan, Kevin Morgan, Sandra Creek, Marsha Witcher, and Nathan Taylor, eight great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
