David Lloyd Schwehm, age 69

David Lloyd Schwehm, age 69, of Lafayette, Tenn. and formerly of Champaign, Illinois, passed away Mon., Jan. 26, 2009, at his residence. Graveside services for David Lloyd Schwehm were conducted Thurs., Jan. 29, 2009 from the Macon County Memorial Gardens with Elder Eddie Gregory officiating; Interment followed.

Bruce Johnson, Barry Newberry, David Presley, Steve Morgan, Richard Bransford, and Lafayette V.F.W. members served as honorary pallbearers. Marty Meador, Lenny Buchholz, Scott Buchholz, Mike Buchholz, Jim Robinson, Dan Wood, Russell Wood, and Gary Revell served as active pallbearers. David Lloyd Schwehm was born on April 30, 1039 in Champaign, IL. He was born to the late Doris Lucille Grothe. Besides his mother, he is preceded in death by brother, Frances Earl (Jeep) Schwehm, and sister, Marilyn Jane Bittle. He grew up in Tolono, Illinois, where he became an all-around athlete excelling in football at Unity High School, after high school he became an avid golfer. He served in the United States Army from 1962 thru 1964, where he was stationed in Korea. He was married to the former Patricia Flippin and moved to Lafayette in the summer of 1973, where he resided until his death. He was a self-employed contractor. David was a member of the V.F.W., the Hillsdale Masonic Lodge # 644, and was of the Missionary Baptist belief, getting saved while on a road trip to Tennessee with Jim Curry, in 1966. He is survived by; daughters, Stephana (Tom) Northern of Bells, Tenn., Sebrina (Steve) Janawsky of Lafayette, Tenn., Schnola (Josh) Copas of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.; grandchildren, William Northern, Taylor Northern, Raechel Northern, all of Bells, Tenn., Colby Lane, Collin Janawsky both of Lafayette, Tenn., Mary Ellen Copas of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.; sister, Beverly Jean Buchholz of Tolono, IL, several uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
