Pauline Perrigo East, age 87

Pauline Perrigo East, age 87, of Lafayette, passed away Sun., Jan. 25, 2009, at Macon County General Hospital. Funeral services for Pauline Perrigo East were conducted Tues., Jan. 27, 2009 from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Gammon and Elder Eddie Gregory officiating.

Kerry Smalling, Steve Jones, Jamie Perrigo, Teddy Perrigo, Jason East, and David East served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Liberty Cemetery. Pauline East was born on, March 22, 1921, in Macon County, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late James Milton and Lucy Lillian Cothron Perrigo. She was married to Joel Smith East, sharing one son and one daughter, James preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1995. Besides her husband and parents; sister, Lorene Woods, also preceded her in death. Pauline owned and operated “City Café” on the square in Lafayette for a larger portion of her life, balancing her life so she could take care of her husband. She enjoyed working in her flowers and having her family around her. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  She is survived by; son, Larry (Janice) East, daughter, Barbara (Brother Jerry) Gammon, all of Lafayette, Tenn.; grandchildren, David (Cheryl) East of Hartsville, Tenn.; Jason East, of Lafayette, Tenn.; great-grandchild, Scott East of Lafayette, Tenn.; brothers, A. P. (June) Perrigo, R. C. (Peggy) Perrigo, Billy (Faye) Perrigo, Randall Perrigo all of Lafayette, Tenn.; Ralph (Linda) Perrigo of Knoxville, Tenn.; Jimmy (Diane) Perrigo of Maryland, sisters, Hester West, Lucille (J.B.) Jones all of Lafayette, Tenn.; Hazel Cooke of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.
