Clara May Jones, 94

Clara May Jones, age 94, of Cedar Bluff Community in Macon County, Tenn., passed away Tues., Feb. 3, 2009, at Westmoreland Care and Rehab. Funeral services for Clara May Jones were conducted Thurs., Feb. 5, 2009 from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Floyd Ferguson officiating. Phillip White, Johnny White, Bill Carr, Mike Whittemore, Larry White, and Ricky Andrews served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.

Clara May Jones was born on June 04, 1914 in Macon County, Tenn. She was born to the late John and Bammie Hightower White. Clara was married to Haywood Jones, who preceded her in death. Besides her husband and parents; four brothers, Carmack, Oakley, Woodrow, and Houston White, also preceded her in death. She was a mother and homemaker, raising one daughter. She worked in her garden and helped her husband raise tobacco on the farm. Clara was a member of the Cedar Bluff Missionary Baptist Church, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by; daughter, Shelvy and husband C. E. Carr of the Cedar Bluff Community in Macon County, Tenn., sister, Oma Whittemore of Lafayette, Tenn.
