Mary Quincy Gregory, 77

Mary Quincy Gregory, age 77, passed away Feb. 27, 2009, at the Skyline Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Mon., Mar. 2, 2009, from the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Donald Taylor and Elder Terry Austin officiating. Bobby Ballou, Terry Evetts, Kirt Nichols, Hal Ballou, Steven Kemp, and Lynn Gann served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park.

Quincy Gregory was born, to the late Bob and Pervis Francies Parker Ballou. She was married to the late Glen Gregory on May 6, 1949, sharing fifty-six years together and raising five sons. Glen preceded her in death on July 7, 2005. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by; brothers, I. T. Ballou, J. D. Ballou, and a sister Maude Lillian Evetts. Ms. Quincy was a homemaker and loving mother. She was a talented seamstress who spent a lot of her time sewing. She loved to travel and spend time with her husband and family. Ms. Quincy worked for Billy Barnfield & Billy Roark at Lafayette Auction and Realty and later Ben Bray’s Real Estate and Auction up until Mr. Glen got sick. At that point, she felt her place was at home with him. She also worked for Dr. Margaret Roberts for over fifteen years, where they developed not only a working relationship, but a true friendship. Ms. Quincy was a devoted member of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, where she will be greatly missed. She is survived by; sons and daughters-in-law, Robby (Carol) Gregory, Jeffery Gregory, Kelvin (Tina) Gregory, all of Lafayette, Tenn., Ricky (Judy) Gregory of Lebanon, Tenn., and David (Laura) Gregory of Portland, Tenn., sister, Loretta (T. V.) Nichols of Dixon Springs, Tenn., half sisters, Janie (Ira) Gann of Lafayette, Tenn., Peggy (Jimmy) Kemp of Defeated, Tenn., twelve grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
