Annie Hackett, age 101

Annie Hackett, age 101, of Pleasant Shade Highway in the Graveltown Community, passed away Fri., March 6, 2009 at the Riverview Regional Medical Center North. Funeral services were conducted Sun., March 7, 2009 from the Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home with Bro. Herman “Jake” Collins and Eld. Billy Joe Shoulders officiating.

Her granddaughter delivered a eulogy. Burial followed in the Sanderson Cemetery at Pleasant Shade. She was born Aug. 15, 1907 in Smith County, she was one of 10 children of the late Jim & Etta Beasley Wilmore. She was married to Clarence Overton Hackett who preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1969 at the age of 65. She is also preceded in death by all five of her children, Paul G. Hackett, Mary Dean Duncan, Betty Vaughn, Gerald “Buck” Hackett, and an infant child who died at birth. Mrs. Hackett was of the Protestant faith and was a long-time homemaker. Surviving are sisters, Patty Sloan of Pleasant Shade, Earlene Richardson of Riddleton, and Gertrude Dillehay of Madison ;brothers Rome, J.B., and I.H. Wilmore all of Pleasant Shade; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
