Lucy Andrews Casady, 79
Lucy Andrews Casady, age 79, of Lafayette and a longtime resident of Carthage, passed away Tues., March 31, 2009, at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. Funeral services for Lucy Andrews Casady were conducted Fri., April 3, 2009 from the Chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elders Jeff Blackwell and Floyd Ferguson officiating. Interment followed in the Anderson and Son Memorial Park in Lafayette.
The Staff at Knollwood Manor served as Honorary Pallbearers. Ronnie Dennis, Mark Darnell, Chris Dennis, Caleb Darnell and Wesley Hughes served as active pallbearers. Lucy was born Jan. 31, 1930 in Macon County, the daughter of the late Harvey Hogan and Rhoda Victoria White Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Paul Hughes, sister, Mary Alice Cornwell, brothers, Elder Jim Carter, John Carter and Elder Thomas Carter. She was a loving mother and a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by, Daughters & sons-in-law, Evelyn Gammon, Helen Hughes, Lila & Ronnie Dennis all of Carthage, and Lena & Mark Darnell of Lafayette; Grandchildren, Susan Gammon, Chris Dennis, Audra (Jared) Stangenberg, Caleb and Lora Darnell, Wesley Hughes, Great-grandson, Dakota Dennis; Brother, David Carter of Dekalb County; Sisters, Joanna Christian of Carthage, and Linda Coons of Hermitage. Sisters-in-law, Shirley, Melba, & Joan Carter.
