JoAnn Kelley Turner, 73

JoAnn Kelley Turner, age 73, of Lafayette, Tenn., passed away April 9, 2009, at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Sat., April 11, 2009 from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jerry Shrum and Keith Perdue officiating. Interment followed in the Rocky Hill Cemetery in Monroe County, KY

JoAnn was born on July 26, 1935 in Macon County, Tenn. to the late William Marion Alexander and Flardie Abgail Harp Kelley. She was married to Billy C. Turner on Nov. 28, 1964, sharing thirty-one years together and raising one daughter; Billy preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1995. Besides her spouse and parents; brothers, Fred, Junior, and Clarence Edward Kelley, sisters, Gertrude Ray, Lou Alice Miller, and Della C. Blankenship, also preceded her in death. Ms. JoAnn worked for the blouse factory for several years. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, needle point, and working puzzles. Her family was the center of her world. She became disabled and went to Westmoreland Care & Rehab where she had been for several years. The staff said, Ms. JoAnn was a wonderful person, full of fun, that we all came to love as family. She will be missed by all of us. Ms. JoAnn was saved as a young girl and was a member of the Sycamore Valley Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa (Timmy) Hagan, grandchildren, Januarie (Caleb) Alred, Joshua (Shay) Hagan all of Lafayette, Tenn., Jami (Tim) Davenport of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Syanne, and Luke Alred, Kiley and Bailey Hagan, all of Lafayette, Tenn., Paige and Alleigh Davenport of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., sister, Alline Knight of Indianapolis, IN.
