David Massengille, 73

David Massengille, age 73, of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., passed away Sat., April 11, 2009 at the Riverview Reg. Medical Center South in South Carthage, Tenn. Funeral Services for David were conducted Tue., April 14, 2009 from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook & E. C. Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitley Cemetery.

Chris Tucker, Randal Bray, Tyson Bray, Michael Williams, David Spivey and Johnny Draper served as pallbearers. David was born Feb. 29, 1936 in Clay County, Tenn., the son of the late Joe Baker and Mary Lou (Neely) Massengille other than his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Branom and brother, John Massengille. April 4, 1955 he married Pearl Bray who survives. He was an equipment operator for Macon County Hwy. Dept. and Landfill, a farmer and a member of the Bakerton Church of Christ. Other than his wife of 54 years his survivors include: daughters & sons -in-law, Leveda (Brad) Murphy, Melinda (Ricky) Green, sons & daughter-in-law, Steve (Jacqueline) Massengille and Kelvin (Martha) Massengille all of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., step-mother, Rosa Nell Massengille of Celina, sisters, Mary Ruth Mayes of Moss, Velma Burton of Somerset, KY, Christine Williams of Celina, half-sister, Renita Allen, half-brothers, Larry Massengille, Bobby (Linda) Massengille, Mitch (Donna) Massengille all of Celina, grandchildren, Mardesa (Mickey) McDuffee, Lauren Clardy, Ciara Green, Connor Murphy, Savanna Green, Brian (Emily) Massengille and Brandon (Leslie) Massengille, great-grandchildren, Jerad Hatcher, Braydon Massengille, Kaylena Hatcher, Bailey Massengille and Josie Green.
