Chester Allen Peterson, “Chet”, 69

Chester Allen Peterson, better known as “Chet”, age 69, of Lafayette, Tenn., passed away April 21, 2009, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. Memorial service for Chester “Chet” Peterson was conducted Sat., April 25, 2009 from the Oasis Church in Lafayette.

Chet Peterson was born on Aug. 17, 1939, in Douglas County, NE, to the late Chester Allen and Doris Farlin Peterson. He was married to Charlotte Schumache for several years, and he later was married to Sammy Peterson. He was the father of four sons and a daughter. Besides his parents; one son, Michael Peterson, also preceded him in death. Chet was a Chief Petty Officer for the United States Navy, receiving several medals during his twenty-three years of service; he retired May 1, 1980.
He was a member of the Lafayette Lions Club, the Lafayette Rotary Club, and the Avid Hunters and Fisherman Club. He is survived by; Former Wives, Charlotte Schumache of Chattanooga, Tenn., Sammy Peterson of Lafayette, Tenn., sons, Larry Peterson, Matt Peterson, both of Chattanooga, Tenn., Steve Peterson of South Carolina, daughter, Teresa Peterson of Chattanooga, Tenn., step-son, Todd Cliburn of Lafayette, Tenn., brother, Paul Peterson of Lafayette, Tenn., sisters, Dorothy Jane Taylor of Lafayette, Tenn., and Judith Elaine Peterson, of Stockton, CA.
