Mary Dee Jenkins Morgan Williams, 80

Mary Dee Jenkins Morgan Williams, age 80, of Lafayette, Tenn., passed away April 18, 2009, at University Medical Center in Lebanon, Tenn. Funeral services were conducted Tues., April 21, 2009, from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jerry Wix officiating. Marc Morgan, Matthew Morgan, Gary Jenkins, Darrell Jenkins, Brad Kirby, and Billy Meade served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery in Macon County, Tenn.

Mary Dee Jenkins Morgan Williams was born on Dec. 14, 1928, in Trousdale County, Tenn., to the late Jesse Thomas and Dee Mona Estelle Huffines Jenkins. She was married to James Morgan in 1946, sharing twenty-six years together, and raising three sons, James preceded her in death on April 5, 1972. In 1976, she was married to C. D. Williams for several years. Besides her husband and parents; one son, Tommy Morgan, sister, Polly Morgan, half-sister, Arvilee Davis, and half-brother, Carlene Jenkins, also preceded her in death. Mary Dee was a homemaker and had worked for Lafayette Apparel for ten years. She had several hobbies such as sewing, shopping for her kids and grandkids, listening to live music, and cooking for her family. For Mary Dee, being able to do for her family, that was what made her happy. She was saved in 1966 and was a member of the Pleasant Hill General Baptist church. She is survived by; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry (Sharon) Morgan of Lafayette, Tenn., Steve (Wanda) Morgan of Adolphus, KY, grandchildren, Matthew Morgan, Marc Morgan, Cyndi Jones, Cecilia Morgan, Hannah Morgan, Sandra Trent, and Amanda Linville, great-grandchild, Jordan Jones, step-grandchildren, Mark Driver and Wesley Driver, step-great-grandchildren, Dewayne Harlin, Billy Meade, and Anthony Meade, brothers, Junior Jenkins, and Bobby Jenkins, both of Lafayette, Tenn., and several nephews and nieces.
