Geraldine Canter Cripps, 89

Geraldine Canter Cripps, age 89, a Difficult Community native and Hermitage resident, passed away May 11, 2009. Funeral services were conducted Thurs., May 14 from the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home with Eld. Floyd Ferguson officiating. Burial followed in the Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Cripps was married on Nov. 21, 1981 to Carnell Cripps who preceded her in death on May 27, 2003. She is also preceded in death by her father and her son, Milton Hunt. She was the 11 of 14 children of the late Thomas Levi & Hettie Lee Wood Canter. Mrs. Cripps retired in 1981 after 30 years of service in the packaging department of American Tea & Coffee. Surviving is a son, Richard Hunt & wife Emma Jean of Lafayette; sister, Sue Collins of Manchester; granddaughters, Gina (Phillip) Smith and Dena (David) Robinson of Lafayette; step-children, Judy Ann (Harvey) Bray of Pueblo, CO, Carnall (Peggy) Cripps, Jr. of Goodletsville and 3 great-grandchildren.
