Scott Rippy, 74

Scott Rippy, age 74 of Bethpage, passed away Wed., May 27, 2009 in Glasgow, KY. Funeral services were conducted Sat., May 30, 2009 from the Providence General Baptist Church with Bro. Tim McCaleb and Bro. Johnny Carver officiating. Interment followed in the Fairfield Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Alton Perdue, Jason Rippy, Mike Williams, David Thorton, Wendell Akins, and Roy Hammock. Honorary Pallbearers were  Harold R. Carter, Tim Reed, Ismael Volesco, Grandsons and Son-in-laws. He is survived by mother Ruby A. Rippy; wife Doris Fleming Rippy, daughters Laura (Nicky) Booker and Sonya (Keith) Troutt all of Bethpage and Cynthia (Phillip) Yankee of Portland, Lisa Rippy of Portland, Tracy (Phillip) Hill of Bethpage, Stacey (Ben) Crudup of Bethpage; sons Scott Jr. (Debbie) Rippy of Bethpage and James (Vicky) Rippy of Bethpage; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; aunt Lassie Rippy of Bethpage. He is preceded in death by his grandson David Shannon Bandy. Mr. Rippy was a retired teacher at North Sumner Elementary School for 32 years. He graduated from Austin Peay State University. In lieu of flowers, the family request you make memorial contributions in the form of donations to the Scott Rippy Memorial Scholarship Fund for Westmoreland High School.
