Jimmy Lee Dyer, 58

Jimmy Lee Dyer, age 58, of the Cedar Bluff Community in Macon County, Tenn., passed away July 14, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services were conducted Fri., July 17, 2009 from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Walter Andrews and Brother Phillip Brawner officiating. Ronnie Biggerstaff, Jim Blythe, Ray Story, Horace Story, and Wayne Warner served as honorary pallbearers.

Scott Oliver, Kris Oliver, Derek Harper, Larry Dyer, Mark Neal, Terry Rolin, Jack Scruggs, and Lee Dyer served as active pallbearers. Interment followed in the Eulia Cemetery. Jimmy Lee Dyer was born on June 10, 1951 in Macon County, Tenn., to the late Chester Lee and Bessie Angeline Ladd Dyer. He married the former Sherrie Alyene Shoulders on Nov. 9, 1973, sharing thirty-five wonderful years together and raising a son; Sherrie survives. Besides his parents; brothers, Terry Lee Dyer and Charlie Wayne Dyer, also preceded him in death. Jimmy worked in construction most of his life, retiring after twenty-seven years; he then started farming and logging. Jimmy was a loving family man, riding his grandkids around on his lawnmowers gave him great joy. He was the Pull Official for the Tompkinsville Mini Tractor Pull in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Jimmy would pull his lawnmowers at different events, with his son and daughter-in-law competing against him with one he builded for them. He was an animal lover; he had a horse named Cheyene Botey that he enjoyed riding, a mule named Kate that he wouldn’t think about selling, and a dog named Stubby that his granddaughter tried to claim as hers. Jimmy liked to ride around the countryside taking off roads, just to see what he could find. Jimmy was saved when he was sixteen years old and was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Besides his wife, Sherrie, he is lovingly survived by; son, Jimmy Dale (Janet-Lea) Dyer, granddaughter, Leah and Tamera Dyer all of the Cedar Bluff Community in Macon County, Tenn., brother, David (Cheryl) Dyer of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., sister, Dorothy (Robert) Coker of Lafayette, Tenn. and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
