Alta Cherry Morgan, 90

Alta Cherry Morgan, age 90, of the Winklers Community in Macon County, Tenn. passed away Mon. morning, July 20, 2009 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. Funeral services for Alta Cherry Morgan will be conducted Wed., July 22, 2009 from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. with Reverend Jeremy Yokley officiating. Interment will follow in the Neal Cemetery in Flippin, KY.

Doug Maynard, Troy Cammack, J. R. Cherry, Timmy Disman, Donnie Disman and Paul Cook will serve as pallbearers. Alta was born Nov. 24, 1918 in Clay County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Rad and Mary Green Cherry. On Dec. 1, 1945, she married Baxter C. “Jack” Morgan, who preceded her in death on July 14, 1991. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Reida Gale Morgan, sisters, Ada Cross and Etta Cook, brothers, Sammy, Aubie, Carlie and William “Bill” Cherry. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sadlers Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include Sons & Daughters-in-law, Sammy Morgan, James “Bobby” & Dixie Morgan, Raney & Sheryl Morgan, sister, Bonnie York all of Red Boiling Springs, granddaughters, Beverly Tuck, Red Boiling Springs, Julie (Troy) Cammack, Tompkinsville, KY, Tina (Doug) Maynard, Nolensville, Grandsons, Jimmy (Ellen) Morgan, Ronnie (Angie) Morgan all of Red Boiling Springs, great-grandchildren, Spencer & Cayley Tuck, Ethan & Seth Cammack, Morgan, Savannah & Gentry Maynard, Taylor Coffelt, Bailey & Briley Morgan and Owen Morgan.
