Thomas Woodard Poindexter, 67, of Celina, Tenn., passed away Thurs., Aug. 27, 2009 2009 at Vanderbilt medical center in Nashville, Tennessee. Funeral services for Thomas Woodard Poindexter of Celina were held here Sun., Aug, 30, 2009 at Upton Funeral Home with Sam Dick officiating.

Serving as pallbearers were David Key, Dewayne Clark, Danny Clark, Chris Boone, Robert Almond and Will Perdue. Honorary pallbearers were Alton Roach, Donald Thompson and Richard Ashlock. Mr. Poindexter was born April 11, 1942 in Ashlock, Kentucky to the late Ervin Thomas and Mattie Woodrow (Moore) Poindexter. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by daughter Tammy Gail Poindexter; son, Rondle Poindexter; brothers, Dewey Lee and Jessie Reed Poindexter. Thomas is survived by wife, Jackie Ann Poindexter of Celina; brother and sister-in-law, Albert D. (Callie) Poindexter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean (Edd) Clark of Monroe (Tenn.), Shirley (Billy) Key of Celina, Marilyn Boone of Celina and Several Nieces and Nephews.
