Tootsie Knight, 88

Tootsie Knight, age 88, of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., passed away Tues., Sept. 1, 2009 at the Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. Funeral Services for Tootsie Knight were conducted Thurs., Sept. 3, 2009 from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Jimmy Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Whitley Cemetery.

Her family and friends served as pallbearers. Tootsie was born July 22, 1921 in Clay County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Harve and Grace Green Knight. She married Charles Newton, better known as “Mutt” Knight, who preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1961. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Carol David and Randal Knight. She was a hairdresser. Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Cindy & Phil Hewitt, Red Boiling Springs, sisters, Doyle Windle, Celina, Merle Rich, Red Boiling Springs, Joann Russell, brother & sister-in-law, Roy & Jo Knight all of Hermitage Springs Community, granddaughter & her husband, Heather & Brent Smith, great-granddaughter, Elly Grace Smith all of Albany, KY.
