Jessie Mae Shrum White, age 85

  Jessie Mae Shrum White, age 85, of Lafayette, Tenn., passed away Sept. 22, 2009, at the Knollwood Manor.

 Funeral services for Jessie Mae Shrum White were conducted Thurs., Sept. 24, 2009 from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder J. B. Shoulders officiating.  Ricky Hire, Anthony Shrum, Alex Shrum, James Ford, Chad Pedigo, and Ethan Pedigo served as pallbearers.  Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Jessie Mae Shrum was born on Oct. 11, 1923 in Macon County, Tenn., to her parents; Jesse and China Augusta Brooks Shrum, who both preceded her in death. On Dec. 18, 1941, Jessie Mae was married to T. H. White, sharing almost sixty-one wonderful years together, and raising three daughters. Besides her husband and parents; one daughter, Linda Sutton, and a grandson, Brian Ballou; also preceded her in death. Ms. Jessie Mae worked for Form-Fit Rogers as a seamstress, Carters Automotive on the assembly line, and as a cook for Macon County General Hospital for eight years; before retiring.  Ms. Jessie Mae enjoyed cooking, crocheting, working in her flower beds, and trying to keep up with her grandchildren. Her life was dedicated to her family. She was a loving mother, who cared deeply for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Ms. Jessie Mae was a member of the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by; Daughters, Brenda and husband Jack Frye, and Teresa and husband Hal Ballou, Brother, Willard and wife Wilma Shrum, Sister, Dora and husband Sammy Hire, Son-in-law, Eddie Sutton, Grandchildren, Jacqueline Pedigo, Jonathan and wife Tracey Frye, Scotty and wife Stacey Sutton, Tonya and husband Richard Piercey, Delaine and husband Richard Cox, and Kayla Sutton, Great-grandchildren, Chad Pedigo, Ethan Pedigo, Tyler Dozier, Savanna Sloan, Grayson Cox, Chase Koger, Dawson Koger, Jaden Frye, and Avery Sutton, Great-great-grandchildren, Carson and Nicholas Pedigo, all of Lafayette, Tenn.
