Limon J. Gammon, age 91

Limon J. Gammon, age 91, of Beech Grove, IN. and formerly of Lafayette, Tenn., passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009,

from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Gammon officiating.  Doug Marr, Bobby Gammon, Tim Myer, Richie Gammon, Zach Gammon, and Jerry Gammon served as pallbearers.  Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Limon J. Gammon was born Aug. 12, 1918 in Macon County, Tenn.. a son of the late Sam and Cammie Gregory Gammon. In addition to his parents; one son, Larry Gammon, four brothers, Obra Gammon, Ethlie Gammon, Cordis Gammon, and Neftie Gammon, three sisters, Lola Fishburn, Zelma Cherry, and Evelle Moss, also preceded him in death. In Feb. 1957, he was united in marriage to Louise Claiborne, sharing fifty-two years together, and raising a son. Limon was saved at Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. In his later years he attended church at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, In. He was devoted to his family that he loved so much. Limon will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him. Limon is lovingly survived by; Wife, Louise Gammon of Indiana, two grandchildren, Scott Gammon and William Gammon, two great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
