Mosey Purcell, age 98

of the Hermitage Springs Community in Clay  County, TN were conducted Thursday October 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the  chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN with  Kirk Dodson officiating.  {mosimage

 Interment followed in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.  His family served as  pallbearers.

Mosey passed  away Tuesday morning, September 29, 2009 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs,  TN. He was born November 2, 1910 in Clay County, TN, one of nine children of  the late Jahue and Roxie Gulley Purcell.   On December 25, 1929, he married Mamie Rush, who preceded him in death  on August 4, 2003.  In addition to  his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Harold Eugene  Purcell, grandson, Richard Purcell, great-granddaughter, Jennifer Purcell,  sisters, Pearly, Mattie and Alice Mai Purcell and brothers, Rue, Carlos,  Sandford, Willard and Jay Mack Purcell.   Mosey was a farmer and a member of the Milestown Church of Christ.  

Survivors  include: Daughter & Son-in-Law, Creola & Kenneth Birdwell, Son &  Daughter-in-Law, Ronald &Doris Purcell   all of the Hermitage Springs Community,  Daughter-in-Law, Virginia Purcell of Greenwood, IN, 7 grandchildren, 16  great-grandchildren & 6 great-great-grandchildren
