Ronnie Neal Krantz, age 56

RONNIE NEAL KRANTZ departed this life on November 1, 2009, at the age of 56.

 


Funeral services for Ronnie Neal Krantz were conducted Wednesday, November 04, at 2 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Dean Dyer officiating.  Lafayette Police Department, City of Lafayette Employees, City Council Members past and present, Bobby Swell, and Macon County Mayors past and present served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.

He was born on May 29, 1953 in Macon County, TN, to his parents; the late William Randall and Lura Belle Dallas Krantz.  Besides his parents; daughter, Rhonda Krantz; also preceded him in death.  
Ronnie was known for his great personality, big heart, and sense of humor. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus for the residence at The Palace Care and Rehab; the residence loved him and would have their pictures made sitting in his lap. Ronnie served several surrounding counties were he was well known, respected and loved. He had worked for the City of Lafayette from March 4, 1981 thru January 31, 2002. Ronnie was Chief of Police for different towns including; Red Boiling Springs, Gainesboro, and Watertown; he also served as Chief Deputy for Clay County, Deputy Sheriff in Macon County, and Lieutenant for the Lafayette Police Department.  Ronnie was a Mason and belonged to the Lafayette Masonic Lodge # 543 and a member of the Shriner’s. He was involved in the Lions Club and served on the Lafayette City Council.
Ronnie was saved on September 20, 1963 at the age of ten and four days later joined the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he was Baptist on a rainy Sunday, September 29.
He was a dear friend that will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.   
Ronnie is survived by; cousins, Anne and Bobby Sewell, Sue Dallas, Judy Polston, Jerry and Neida Dallas, Bobby and Barbara Dallas, Jimmy and Wanetta Dallas, special- niece, Stacy Dyer, devoted companion, Debbie Sadler, and many other cousins, also survive
